What information do we collect?
When you register your interest in Science Warehouse, we collect the information from the mandatory fields that are necessary for us to provide the service. We will also collect information from you when you complete any other forms on our site or if you contact us with comments or specific requests.

What do we use personal information for?
We wish to provide a service which is personalised to each of our visitors and use the information you provide in order to do so. We or other carefully selected third parties may provide you with details of products or services relevant to your business or occupation. You may also receive occasional email messages from Science Warehouse on matters which we consider may be of interest to you. We also collect information automatically about user visits to our site to monitor browsing preferences and help us regularly improve our web site architecture.

In accordance with the EU directive relating to the storage of personal Information, we are obliged to inform you that Science Warehouse is a UK-based company and it is not our intention to transfer any data outside of the UK, but we may do this were we to think that this could be of benefit to yourself.

If you have agreed to receive emails from us, these emails may contain information about goods and services which we believe are of interest to you.  We may use the following within email communications in order to understand and improve the service we offer you:

i) Email Opening Sensing: in order to understand how our readers interact with the emails and the content that we send we use pixels in the text in order to learn who has opened the emails that they have been sent.
ii) Message Format Sensing: in order to provide our content in the relevant format, we also use pixels to understand whether you can receive emails in text or html form.
iii) Click-Through Sensing: if you click in a link in the email we may set a cookie in your browser.
iv) Response Analysis: if you visit our website as a result of clicking on a link we are able to understand how you interact with the pages of the website through a combination of the cookie and pixels set on the pages of the website.  This enables us to understand what interested you in our emails and what did not so that we can send you relevant information in future.  Please note that if you click on a link in our email that takes you to a third party website you will need to read their privacy policy in order to understand how they process data about your visit to their site.
